Server Room Backup Power with the ST2000 Power Station
- Industry
- Corporate office
- Location
- A company server room
- System size
- 2074 Wh power station; up to 4 hours of backup
- Result
- When the grid goes down, the power station keeps the server room running for up to 4 hours
Challenge
A company's server room, from switches and routers to the servers themselves, cannot afford to go dark in a power cut: every sudden shutdown means a network outage and a risk to data and hardware.
Solution
The company bought a Suntech ST2000 power station from SANA Energy, and our team installed and commissioned it in the server room. The unit has a UPS function: while the grid is up the equipment runs on mains, and when the power goes out the ST2000 takes over the connected equipment. At this server room's load, it can carry the equipment for up to 4 hours.
System configuration
- Suntech ST2000 power station, 2074 Wh
- Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery
- 2200 W pure sine wave AC output
- UPS function that takes over automatically in a power cut
